Joshua SesslerJoshua Sessler is a Partner at Cowan, DeBaets, Abrahams & Sheppard LLP and a member of the CDAS digital media and technology law practice, servicing numerous celebrity and high profile CDAS clients. Mr. Sessler has specialized in technology law since his law school days in the mid-90s, when the internet industry was still something of an unknown quantity. With over 15 years of experience advising leading-edge companies that have employed digital media and technology to create new business paradigms, Mr. Sessler handles a full range of corporate, intellectual property, internet technology, security and privacy legal matters in his practice.

Prior to joining CDAS, Mr. Sessler refined his corporate legal expertise at such top-tier New York law firms as Hughes, Hubbard & Reed LLP and Pryor, Cashman, Sherman & Flynn LLP. Mr. Sessler‘s practice focuses on intellectual property protection, technology platform, hosting and cloud agreements, licensing and distribution deals, and privacy and data protection issues, as well as a wide range of commercial transactions including joint ventures, business formation and structuring, angel/venture capital financing, M&A, executive and employee compensation and stock option programs. In the late 1990s, Mr. Sessler served as Executive Vice President and Legal Counsel for a Silicon Alley strategic communications firm that took on private investment and formed an international joint venture with two leading Japanese corporations. In the mid 2000’s, Mr. Sessler co-founded and served as general counsel for an internet-based video broadcasting company.

Mr. Sessler graduated from Brooklyn Law School with honors and was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1998. He lives in Westchester County, New York with his wife and three children.
